Sea of Tranquility
Emily St. John Mandel
Time travel, a moon colony, and a quiet meditation on pandemics and art. Mandel is doing something special. Loved it.

★ 5The Glass Hotel
Emily St. John Mandel
A Ponzi scheme, a shipping magnate, a woman who slips between worlds. Mandel writes eerie, gorgeous, interconnected stories like no one else.
Exit Party
Emily St. John Mandel
A woman just out of prison goes to a party in a near-future, splintered America, where doppelgangers turn up and the host vanishes. A sprawling, puzzle-box story from Mandel with lots of easter eggs from previous books. The ending felt a little abrupt — but I think that was intentional.
★ 5The Other Valley
Scott Alexander Howard
A town bordered by the same valley twenty years in the past and twenty years ahead, and a girl who has to guard the line. Haunting premise, beautifully done.
